आजमगढ़ जनपद अखण्ड भारत का सुपरिचित नाम है। यह मनीषी राहुल सांकृत्यायन तथा जनकवि हरिओध की धरती है। वर्षों से यह सांकृतिक चेतना का संवाहक रहा है। इसी जनपद के कप्तानगंज-अहिरौला मार्ग पर एक ग्राम तीर्थ है, समदी। समदी श्रम साधकों का गाँव है। लोक मान्यतानुसार वन-गमन के समय श्रीराम एवं हिमालय जाते समय पाण्डवों ने यहाँ विश्राम किया था। तमसा और मजुई मंजूषा के पवित्र संगम के समीप समदी में अवस्थित है राजकीय महिला महाविद्यालय। उत्तर प्रदेश शासन ने ग्रामीण क्षेत्र हेतु विशेष परियोजना के रूप में इसकी स्थापना की है। उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार के शासनादेश संख्या: 1036-सत्तर-5-2016-70(32)/2014 द्वारा जुलाई 2016 में स्थापित इस राजकीय महिला महावि्यालय में कला-समाज विज्ञान, वाणिज्य व विज्ञान संकाय में प्रवेशनुमति दी गई है। यह राजकीय महाविद्यालय, आजमगढ़ में अवस्थित दूसरा राजकीय महिला महाविद्यालय है। जिन महानुभावों ने इस संस्कारशाला की अवसथापना में प्रत्यक्ष व परोक्ष सहयोग दिया है, वे सर्वथा अभिनन्दन के अधिकारी हैं। शैक्षिक सत्र 2016-17 की प्रथम छात्रा बनीं अंतिमा प्रजापति। उत्तर प्रदेश शासन की मंशा के अनुरूप इसे भव्य व आदर्श स्वरूप प्रदान करने हेतु कई अभिनव प्रयोग किये गए हैं। महाविद्यालय की छात्राओं के अध्यापन हेतु लिए सभी प्रकार के संसाधन सरकार द्वारा उपलब्ध कराये गए हैं। विदयुत, शुद्ध पेयजल, मानक प्रयोगशाला की व्यवस्था आरम्मिक सत्र से ही हो गई थी। लोक सेवा आयोग, उत्तर प्रदेश द्वारा चयनित मेधावी तथा समर्पित प्राध्यापकों को यहाँ अध्यापन हेतु भेजा जाता है। सीमित संसाधन में भी अपनी गुणवत्ता तथा अभिनव संकल्पना के कारण यह महाविद्यालय स्थापना वर्ष से ही जनप्रिय हो गया है। अनुशासन, कुशल प्रशासन और मानक अध्यापन ही इस महाविद्यालय का परिचय है। समृद्ध पुस्तकालय, बुक बैंक, ई-कॉन्टेंट, वाचनालय, इंटरनेट कनेक्टिविटी के साथ कंप्यूटर केन्द्र, आधुनिक व्यायामशाला छात्राओं हेतु उपलब्ध है। महाविद्यालय सभी पंजीकृत छात्राओं को अध्यापन के साथ ही उनके सम्पूर्ण व्यक्तिगत विकास हेतु कला, अभिव्यक्ति, मंच प्रदर्शन, प्रस्तुतीकरण, भाषण शैली, आन्तरिक स्तर पर ज्ञानवर्धक प्रतियोगिता, समाज सेवा, देश भक्ति, तार्किक व वैज्ञानिक सोच को दिशा देने के लिए निरन्तर प्रतिबद्ध है। छात्रवृत्ति, शुल्क मुक्ति, निर्धन-छात्रा सहायता, छात्रा-कल्याण प्रकोष्ठ, आन्तरिक गुणवत्ता सुनिश्चयन प्रकोष्ठ (IQAC), महाविद्यालय ई-पत्रिका, समाचार पत्र-पत्रिका, वार्षिकोत्सव, वार्षिक क्रीड़ा, परिषदीय प्रतियोगितायें, राष्ट्रीय-अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय सेमिनार, वेबिनार, व्याख्यान माला, प्रेरिकी आदि के माध्यम से छात्राओं को वैचारिक समृद्धि प्रदान करने हेतु महाविद्यालय सदैव संकल्पित है एवं छात्राओं के बहुमुखी विकास हेतु नवीन विचार को आत्मसात करने के लिए हमेशा तत्पर है।

The Government Girls Degree College is located in Samadi village, proximate to the sacred confluence of the Tamasa and Manjusha rivers in Azamgarh district. The Government of Uttar Pradesh established this institution as a special initiative for rural development. Operationalized in July 2016 through Government Order No. 1036-Sattar-5-2016-70(32)/2014, the college offers admission across the faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce, and Science. This marks the second Government Girls Degree College established in Azamgarh. Those who have contributed, whether directly or indirectly, to the genesis of this centre of learning merit sincere commendation. Antima Prajapati was enrolled as the inaugural student for the academic session 2016-17. In alignment with the vision of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, several innovative measures have been implemented to shape the college into a impressive and excellent institution. The government has furnished all necessary instructional resources for the students. Essential infrastructure, including electricity, potable water, and a well-equipped laboratory, was available from the commencement of the first academic session. Meritorious and committed professors, selected through the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, are deputed here for teaching assignments. Despite initial resource constraints, the college has garnered recognition since its inception, attributable to its high quality and progressive methodologies. The hallmarks of this college are its emphasis on discipline, efficient administration, and high standards of teaching. Students have access to a comprehensively stocked library, a book bank, e-content resources, a dedicated reading room, a computer centre with internet connectivity, smart classes, and a modern gymnasium. The college is persistently committed to furnishing all registered students not only with academic instruction but also with opportunities for comprehensive personal development, encompassing art, creative expression, stage performance, presentation skills, public speaking proficiency, intellectually stimulating competitions, social service, inculcation of patriotic values, and the development of logical and scientific temperament. Furthermore, the college is perpetually dedicated to enriching the intellectual lives of its students through the provision of scholarships, fee waivers, financial aid for economically disadvantaged students, a dedicated student welfare cell, an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), a college e-magazine, newsletters, annual functions, annual sports events, intercollegiate competitions, national and international seminars, webinars, lecture series, and motivational programs.
